Mr. Karas has over twenty-four years of management and information technology consulting experience.  He has often been called on to forecast where technology is going and how to make technology actionable. His focus is on creating data-led, process focused and technology enabled organizations.  He has a passion for creating highly effective teams that succeed where others fail.  

Mr. Karas is the Chief Technology Officer and the Chief Transformation Officer for CAPREIT, a national multi-family housing company.  Prior to joining CAPREIT, Mr. Karas was President of Enterprise Solutions Group, a technology-oriented consulting firm in Hunt Valley, MD.  

Mr. Karas has been described as someone who is kind, intelligent, works hard and is obsessed with promoting success and preventing failure.  He is passionate about creating high functioning teams and outstanding corporate cultures.  He has extensive experience in the real estate, financial, healthcare, and technology sectors.  He has in-depth knowledge in the areas of employee retention, corporate governance, corporate structure, process improvement, business and systems process analysis and full life cycle systems development.  Mr. Karas is also a noted expert in the implementation and optimization of enterprise resource planning and financial management systems.  

He is an expert, with cross-cultural experience, in organizational change management.  Mr. Karas is a noted expert in diversity, inclusion and equity.  He is an EEOC-approved trainer and mediator.  He routinely provides guidance to organizations on creating harassment-free and discrimination-free cultures.  

Mr. Karas holds a Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance and a Masters of Business Administration, with concentrations in Accounting, Management, and Management Information Systems from Loyola University Maryland.  He holds multiple certifications including being a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a Certified Global Managerial Accountant (CGMA), and a Six Sigma Master Black Belt (SSMB).
