Alex Kuby, AIA, is a highly acclaimed Associate Principal at RCD. Specializing in Hospitality and Interiors, Alex has over a decade of experience working on international and domestic projects materializing in a portfolio of renowned clients. As Senior Studio Director of the Hospitality and Interiors division, his responsibilities include maintaining long-term client relationships while cross-marketing the firm's expertise across workgroups and typologies. Kuby is a valuable member of RDC's leadership team and consistently champions initiatives that integrate service offerings, streamline project implementation, and develop creative talent.

Kuby's specialization in the built environment has allowed him to work with esteemed clients such as Avalon Bay, ACCOR, Starwood Capital Group, JLL, Trammell Crow, and create designs for leading hospitality brands within the families of Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott and IHG. His team creates bespoke design solutions ranging from high-end hospitality to multi-family residential and corporate workplaces. Some of his most notable hospitality work include the Hilton Wenchang, Hotel Indigo Downtown Los Angeles, Baha Mar Nassau, and Pullman Baotou.

Drawing from his extensive experience, Alex approaches each project with a mindful consideration of the project’s identity and an eye for opportunities of connection through offerings of hospitality. Creating impactful and holistic design solutions for his clients, his philosophy is focused on balancing immersive experiential spaces with their operational needs. From adaptive reuse, new builds, to renovations, Kuby ensures a thoughtful brand narrative is infused throughout every aspect of the project to leave guests with a resounding sense of place.

Alex ascribes to four values in his personal ethos: relationship, scale, boundary, and illumination. His creative and technical interests span from architectural theory to graphic design, construction, and project management, ensuring that every project maintains high standards throughout its lifecycle. Kuby holds a bachelor's degree in architecture from USC and is a registered architect in California.
